We manufacture gaskets from specialist materials for applications with continuous temperatures exceeding +500 °C. These include materials fabricated using mica crystals, a naturally occurring silicate with excellent resistance to high temperature. Pure mica can be combined with other materials, such as a tanged steel core, to improve performance under specific operating conditions.
We hold a large stock of high temperature gasket materials or can source and supply specialist sheets and fillers. Please contact our helpful technical team to discuss your specific requirements.
We manufacture gaskets from Firefly Millboard FF700, FF800 and FF900 grades. The non-asbestos fibre millboard sheets are suitable for a wide range of high temperature applications.
Thermiculite is supplied as a sheet material or a filler compound. Thermiculite 815® is a high temperature sheet material reinforced with stainless steel tanged core.
Manufactured by FMI, Micatherm and FM-High materials are available in sheet and filler form for use across critical applications up to 1000 °C
Commonly used as a cost-effective option for high-temperature gaskets, Superwool is resistant to chemical attack and can withstand temperatures up to 1250°C.
Dobson’s manufacture a range of high-temperature gaskets from non-asbestos and fibre and materials that in many cases are reinforced with metal composites and supplied with anti-corrrosion and oxidisation inhibitors. All gaskets are precision cut in-house using state-of-the-art machinery, such as CAM cutting tables, water jetting and punch presses.
We offer clients a full turnkey service, including materials specification, CAD design and prototyping. We apply the same attention to detail whether producing small or large runs gaskets and all gaskets are manufactured to the required national and international standards.
Sealing against high temp medias such as steam and exhaust emissions requires a rigid material impervious to thermal degradation over fluctuating conditions. Mica and non-asbestos fibre gaskets are typically used in these types of applications, particularly where oxygen is present and standard higher temperature materials such a graphite will fail.
Our highly experienced technicians can advise you on the best sheet materials and manufacturing processes for a wide range of gasket applications.
We supply a vast range of gasket materials, available to buy directly or order from us. For more information visit the Gasket Sheet Materials Document.
